Bvlgari kicked off celebrations for the Year of the Snake in Shanghai with an exceptional immersive art exhibition inspired by the Maison’s legendary icon, revisited by 19 Chinese and international artists.
The exhibition also showcases the new Serpenti 2025 collections.
Featuring 28 artworks by 19 Chinese and international artists – 11 of them created exclusively for the occasion – the exhibition is an invitation to explore the captivating meanings and interpretations of the snake through art, history and contemporary permutations. The event included a worldwide premiere for a work entitled “Infinito: AI Data Sculpture” by Refik Anadol, a 3D sculpture set in the center of a 360-degree mirrored room.
Bvlgari CEO Jean-Christophe Babin welcomed over 350 guests for the inauguration at Zhangyuan, a historic public space in Shanghai that has become a prominent cultural and commercial hub, embodying a merging of Chinese and Western elements, along with the city’s never-ending transformation.
The journey exploring the snake’s multifaceted and continually shape-shifting identity unfolds in three chapters: CRAFTING SERPENTS IN HISTORY, SNAKES IN THE ARTS, and CONTEMPORARY TRANSFORMATIONS. Guests had a chance to marvel at a selection of magnificent watches and fine jewelry from Bvlgari Heritage collections, including several unreleased one-of-a-kind creations displayed in the three sections of the exhibition.
Bvlgari master artisans are on hand throughout the exhibition to present the Maison’s exceptional craftsmanship in an interactive workshop. Lastly, to mark the Year of the Snake, Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts properties will all introduce a special Serpenti suite, proposing a complete immersion thanks to myriad details that celebrate the magnetic allure of the sign.
