Initiated by Veuve Clicquot, the Bold program celebrates the legacy of Madame Clicquot by honoring the audacious journeys of female entrepreneurs whose initiatives positively impact society. Bold by Veuve Clicquot events encourage new generations of female entrepreneurs and help energize the growth of their companies in France and around the world. The cornerstone of the program is the Bold Woman Award, which for more than 50 years has recognized and supported some 450 female entrepreneurs in 27 countries.
Speaking during the ceremony, Veuve Clicquot President and CEO Jean-Marc Gallot said: “We are honored to welcome Stella McCartney, a truly eminent role model deeply committed to the future of her industry and to our planet, who has shared her entrepreneurial drive and commitments with our eight finalists for 2023.”
“It has been a great honor and a very moving experience for me to share my experience with a new generation of audacious female entrepreneurs. I still can’t believe that my dream of becoming an engaged designer who respects animal well-being has been a reality for more than 20 years now! The passion and enthusiasm of this new generation is absolutely amazing, and I hope that if these women take one thing away from this evening, it’s that they can overcome their fears and remain true to themselves – without listening to the opinions of others. Never forget that!”, Stella McCartney said.
The winner of the 51st Bold Woman Award is Sophie Lacoste, Co-Chairman of Fusalp, and the winner of the Bold Future award is Amélie Guicheney, Founder and CEO of Gaya Bike.
“Like Stella McCartney, we are very proud to present these awards to two women whose vision and commitment are disrupting the codes of two key industries in France, luxury and new mobility solutions. They are being recognized for their entrepreneurial audacity in two sectors that too often remain led by men,” stated Jean-Marc Gallot, President and CEO of Veuve Clicquot.
