These houses span the entire globe, from Europe and the Americas to Asia and the Middle East, encompassing two spheres. Selective retailing counts Sephora, the leader in beauty retail innovation, and Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, the Parisian department store that epitomizes chic, while DFS proposes unique retail experiences for international travelers, including majestic department stores such as the Samaritaine in Paris.
2023 HIGHLIGHTS
Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche
Following the resounding success of its first immersive theater experience, Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche is raising the curtain again, presenting Entre Chiens et Louves (Between Dogs and She-Wolves) with the acrobatic circus troupe Cirque Le Roux. A subtle blend of circus arts, comedy and cinema, the performances in the heart of the department store took audiences on a journey through the centuries for a captivating poetic experience.
La Grande Épicerie de Paris
In September, La Grande Épicerie de Paris celebrated a century of passion for gastronomy. From a simple counter in Le Bon Marché it has expanded into two stores on either side of the Seine, an institution that celebrates France’s unique culinary offerings. To celebrate this anniversary in fitting gourmand style La Grande Épicerie de Paris concocted a menu of over 40 unique products, including a rare and exceptional Château d’Yquem de 1923 sauternes wine.
Sephora
Sephora unveiled its first store of the future in Shanghai, featuring a selection of premium C-beauty brands, innovative technology and services, personalized content thanks to artificial intelligence, tutorials and more. The store welcomes beauty tech as Sephora forges closer relations with Chinese customers, offering a unique and personalized shopping experience.
LA SAMARITAINE (DFS)
Samaritaine marked the fall season by celebrating Surrealism with “Paris Trompe-l’Oeil”, an immersive experience in the heart of the department store. Windows seem to comealive, the grand staircase plays with perspective and products seem to escape from windows. The invitation to rediscover the department store with mind-bending whimsy.
