AN ETHICAL REQUIREMENT
Every action taken by the Group and its employees reflects LVMH’s commitments to ethics as well as environmental and corporate social responsibility. In keeping with the highest standards, which the Group has committed to applying within its sphere of influence, LVMH has established clear principles and rules of conduct, championed by a dedicated governance structure.
GOVERNANCE ARRANGEMENTS FIRMLY EMBEDDED AT THE HIGHEST ECHELONS
The Group’s Ethics & Compliance Department steers and coordinates LVMH’s ethics policies, in coordination with a network of over 190 correspondents within the Maisons. The Department coordinates all the Group’s efforts to combat corruption and money laundering, protect personal data, comply with international sanctions and uphold human rights.
The progress made in these areas is regularly presented to the Ethics & Sustainable Development Committee of LVMH’s Board of Directors.
The Group’s approach to ethics builds on both international standards and its own in-house benchmarks. In particular, it has put in place widescale strategies to raise awareness and report breaches, which have been deployed in a structured, secure manner.
A PROGRAM BUILT ON INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS AND INTERNAL INSTRUMENTS
In addition to international standards, which LVMH promotes within its sphere of influence, the Group has put in place its own internal rules to guide the conduct of its employees and partners on a daily basis.
LVMH CODE OF CONDUCT
The LVMH , which serves as the cornerstone for the Group’s ethics, lays down rules by which everyone must abide in their day-to-day activities. The latest version of the Code, published in April 2024, is divided into three chapters: a committed group, a responsible employer and a group with integrity.
The members of the Executive Committee signed up to the updated Code of Conduct, which is promoted by Maisons’ Presidents and communicated widely, in particular via an online training module. The e-learning course raises awareness around the principles of the Code of Conduct and was rolled out across the Maisons in the second half of 2024.
SUPPLIER AND BUSINESS PARTNER CODE OF CONDUCT
This Code promotes a responsible approach to all of LVMH’s partners. It requires all partners to comply with its principles and also ensure compliance among their own suppliers and subcontractors.
ANTI-CORRUPTION CHARTER
Published in 2024, this document completes the Group’s integrity strategy. It reiterates LVMH’s zero-tolerance policy toward corruption and influence peddling and gives employees concrete examples to illustrate the various types of conduct to avoid and adopt in complex situations. In 2024, 66,824 employees received training in these principles.
RESPONSIBLE LOBBYING CHARTER
LVMH contributes to public debate in a spirit of constructive dialog and cooperation with the relevant stakeholders, including, but not limited to, public officials and institutions responsible for decision-making processes. Published in April 2024, the Responsible Lobbying Charter sets out the key principles that guide the Group’s participation in the public sphere: integrity, transparency and accuracy.
Having established robust Group-wide reference frameworks such as the Code of Conduct and the Anti-Corruption Charter, LVMH demonstrates that ethics and integrity are not optional extras, they form the very foundation of the way we conduct ourselves.
