Louis Vuitton is delighted to announce its return as Title Partner for the 37th America's Cup in Barcelona, continuing an exceptional adventure that began more than 40 years ago in 1983 with the Maison’s first ever sports partnership.

The Louis Vuitton Cup, which culminates on October 27, will see five Challenger teams compete in a series of races. The Challenger that wins the Louis Vuitton Cup – Ineos Britannia, Alinghi Red Bull Racing, Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, NYYC American Magic or Orient Express Racing – will earn the right to take on the Defender, Emirates Team New Zealand, which won the previous edition of the America’s Cup in the waters of the Mediterranean.

The storied French house has commissioned the Louis Vuitton Cup – continuing a tradition that began in 1983 – as well as two bespoke Trophy Trunks for the Louis Vuitton Cup and the 37th America’s Cup Barcelona, custom-made in Louis Vuitton’s historic workshops in Asnières. One will hold the Auld Mug, as the coveted sterling silver trophy is affectionately known, which was awarded to the winner of the first America’s Cup in 1851 and is the world’s oldest international sporting trophy. The second trunk is for the Louis Vuitton Cup commissioned by the Maison and presented to the winner of the eponymous competition since 1983.

This final sprint to the America's Cup promises to be thrilling, pitting the winner of the Louis Vuitton Cup the British team Ineos Britannia, against the "Defender", Emirates Team New Zealand, who will defend their title on the waters of Barcelona. The outcome of the competition remains uncertain, promising intense races and a fierce battle for the oldest sporting trophy in the world.

Louis Vuitton and the America’s Cup celebrate the meeting of two worlds, where the art of sailing goes hand in hand with refinement, where adventure teams with elegance, and where innovation opens up exciting new horizons.
